Welcome to the Integrative Science Program (ISP)

Program Description

Scientists, educators, and community leaders experience first-hand scientific content and research experience through a community-based and inquiry-driven program. ISP candidates join a growing network of professionals who work collaboratively to affect change in local and national contexts. This interdisciplinary program allows educators to customize their course of study to connect science to language arts, math, social studies, and other disciplines.

This program combines cutting edge research with web-base learning communities and allows the option to take at least one field course in the US or overseas.

Degree Options

Applicants select to enroll in either a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree in the Biological Sciences (offered jointly by the departments of Botany, Microbiology and Zoology) or a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Zoology. MAT and MA candidates go through the Integrative Science Program together.
